Happy Christmas

This magic moment. So different and so newww. Was like any otherrrrr.. "This Magic Moment" is the title of a song written by lyricist Doc Pomus and pianist Mort Shuman. It is one of their best known hits. It was first recorded by Ben E. King with The Drifters and it reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960. It was rendered anew by Jay and the Americans in 1969 and ranked even higher, hitting number 6 in early 1969 and earning gold record status. Well in this case..my magic moment is finishing my Xmas shopping. So like okay, its not like I have a big ole family surrounding me here in Windsor, or, tons of relatives living anywhere nearby, to shop for. Au contrare mon ami, Christmas cards, gift cards and stamps comprise the majority of my Xmas lists but, I am notoriously last minute, in all aspects of the Holiday Season hullabaloo. I find it hopelessly commercial and bleakly spiritual concerning the heart of the Christmas celebration. I recall the hair standing on the

Yall done the Xmas shopping?? I plan to start mine tomorrow. I just spent the last week in Boston visiting my son and daughta-in-law. The rain fell all the way on the drive eastward but the real challenge was finding their new home when I got there after midnight. My google search never indicated the community development was some 2 miles off the main street and isolated in the wooded suburb of Woburn, but more aptly situated in the adjoining community of Reading. There are 21 official neighborhoods in Boston used by the city. We shopped for some new skins for my car and followed up with a sprint out to Foxboro and the New England Patriots home field, Gillette Stadium. I checked out the pro shop and decided to scout any memorabilia at Marshall's back in Stoneham. I hogged all the time I could in

Just riding out a Colorado low..winds been howling off the lake at over 80kms per hour all through the night and most of the following day. Awoke this morning expecting the white stuff, but nothing yet. The weather network reports +4C so snow wont survive that mercury reading. It is (the snow that is) better off to settle in BC with their sub-zero forecasts (settling in at -5 tonight) for a white Xmas. Nevertheless, we are better suited to navigate the flurries than west-coasters. BC blog follower Gerry Desharnais took off to Puerto Vallarta last weekend, so he timed 'er right. LOL. I could do without the power grey-outs that accompany these lake gales here, on the Erie shores, though. We just finished cleaning up from my beloved Val's 43rd birthday on Sunday. We had company, John and Sue, came in from North Bay and shared in celebrations. Our neighbour Tim took them on his family's greenhouse tour at Seacliffes Greenhouses and sent the gals home with potted Poinsettias for
