I live by the ducks on the roof.

The circle has been completed. I left Essex County last November and returned a week ago and moved into my new place this weekend. I found a little cottage in Amherstburg and, after looking over a few properties, decided on this place located "by the Ducks on the Roof" as the directions were passed on to me. Ducks on the Roof is a well known restaurant on the outskirts of Amherstburg. Amherstburg is a  town near the mouth of the  Detroit River  in  Essex County, Ontario . It is approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of the U.S. city of  Detroit , Michigan. "I  believe we did see Amherstburg, we (Mom and Dad) parked near where a ferry or a boat went across to  USA ? It seemed hilly somewhat. (It is) sort of an artsy place, yes?", emailed my Mother when I sent her my new address. Marblehead December held my train trip from Winnipeg to Vancouver to hop on China Air for Bangkok. January and February were peppered with beaches and hikes in eastern

Celebrations of mothers and motherhood

Image
Mother's Day is a celebration that honors mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March, April, or May. It complements  Father's Day , a celebration honoring fathers. Celebrations of mothers and motherhood occur throughout the world. Many of these trace back to ancient festivals, like the Greek cult to  Cybele , the Roman festival of  Hilaria , or the Christian  Mothering Sunday  celebration. However, the modern holiday is an  American  invention and not directly descended from these celebrations. Despite this, in some countries Mother's Day has become synonymous with these older tradition. Have a great day Mom. Ill be in touch.

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Image
Cinco de Mayo  ( Spanish  for "fifth of May") is a  celebration  held on  May 5 . It is celebrated nationwide in the  United States  and regionally in  Mexico , primarily in the state of  Puebla ,  where the holiday is called  El Día de la Batalla de Puebla  (English: The Day of the Battle of Puebla).  The date is observed in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride,  and to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the  American Civil War .  In the state of Puebla, the date is observed to commemorate the  Mexican army 's unlikely victory over French forces at the  Battle of Puebla  on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General  Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín .  Contrary to widespread popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not  Mexico's Independence Day —the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico—which is actually celebrated on September 16. I'll be in touch.

Hi from Boston. It was a long drive from Winnipeg. The weather is cool here and rainy. I booked a tee time tomorrow with my grandson and I hoping for some sunshine. Wish me luck. I'll be in touch.
